# Data Collection

devvkit's tools run entirely in your browser. Any data you input into a tool stays on your device and is never sent to our servers. We do not operate accounts and we do not store the data you process.

Two exceptions exist: the GitHub Profile Analyzer and Open Source Browser tools proxy public GitHub API requests through our server (to avoid CORS restrictions). Only the username or search terms you type are transmitted in the request, and nothing is logged or stored: the response is forwarded to your browser and discarded.

Separately, like most websites, we use Google Analytics and Google AdSense to understand how the site is used and to display advertisements. These services only activate after you accept the cookie banner. Google Analytics receives aggregated usage data (such as page views, device type, and general geographic region) that does not identify individual users. Advertising cookies may be used by Google to personalize ads. You can decline at any time: the banner appears on your first visit and you can change your choice via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

# Cookie Consent

Before any analytics or advertising scripts load, we ask for your consent through a banner displayed on your first visit. Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage:

  • -Accept: Google Analytics and Google AdSense scripts load and may set cookies as described below.
  • -Decline: no analytics or advertising scripts load, and no tracking cookies are set. All tools remain fully functional.
  • -Change your mind: use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer or clear your browser data to see the banner again.

# Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising purposes, subject to your consent. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. The types of cookies we use include:

  • -Preference cookies: remember your theme selection (light/dark mode): always active, no consent required
  • -Analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors interact with the site (Google Analytics): only after consent
  • -Advertising cookies: used by Google AdSense to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history: only after consent

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

# Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. AdSense uses cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other websites across the internet. This enables personalized advertising tailored to your interests.

# Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand general usage patterns. GA4 may collect anonymized, aggregated data such as page views, device type, browser version, and general geographic region. This data does not identify individual users. GA4 uses its own cookies to track session information.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on or enabling Do Not Track in your browser settings.

# Local Storage

Some tools use browser localStorage to remember your preferences (e.g., theme selection, saved prompts). This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

# Data Retention

We do not store any personal data on our servers. Any data you input into the tools remains in your browser and is under your control. Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months before being automatically anonymized.

# Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For visitors in the European Economic Area, we process data under the following legal bases: consent (you have opted in to analytics and advertising cookies, and you may withdraw consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer) and legitimate interest (essential preference cookies and basic security, which keep the site functional and safe and are not subject to consent).

When Google Analytics or AdSense process data on our behalf, that processing may involve transfers outside the European Economic Area (e.g., to servers in the United States). These transfers are carried out under Google's data processing terms, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as described in Google's privacy policy.

# Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • -Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
  • -Non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights

#Children's Privacy (COPPA)

devvkit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will promptly delete it.
